Strange Days in Hamburg

At the VIS anniversary edition, Strange Days - our joint film programme with the international short film festivals in Winterthur and Hamburg - premiered. Now all three programmes move to the 29th edition of the International Short Film Festival Hamburg, showing more than 400 films from 40 countries from today (June 4th) to Monday (June 10th)

Strange Days, the science fiction film by Kathryn Bigelow, is the glittering name-giver of the joint film programme. The concept: one title, one topic for which each festival curates one programme that will be screened with the others at all three festivals. Collaboratively, because all three festivals value the bold, experimental and often borderline form of the short film. Because we all know the retinal flickering and radiating brains, the Strange Days after viewing thousands of films, and because we recognise similarities in moods, formal trends and aesthetic styles in the yearly admissions.

The Strange Days programme by VIS can be seen on Thursday, June 6th, at 7.30 pm at 3001 Kino. See the programme
